None at all. It uses high-frequency ultrasonic vibration to break water into ultra-fine particles you see as mist. What rises off the surface is just cool water vapor — completely safe to touch and breathe, with zero fog juice or additives to buy.
How much mist does it actually produce?

Do I need a special container or bowl?
Just about any water-holding vessel works — vases, bowls, ponds, fountains, aquariums, cauldrons. For the best mist effect, use a container at least 30cm (about 12 inches) wide so the fog has room to spread and roll instead of getting trapped.
How much water does it need?
The disc needs to sit submerged under roughly 1–2 inches of water. Too shallow and it won't mist properly; too deep and the fog gets muffled before it reaches the surface. Once you find the sweet spot for your container, it's effortless.
Will the color-changing lights stay on one color or cycle?
The 12 LEDs automatically cycle through vibrant colors on their own, creating that constantly shifting, hypnotic glow through the mist. No remote or setting needed — it just runs the show for you.
How do I clean and maintain it?
Easy. If you notice the mist weakening, gently wipe the disc with a cotton swab to clear mineral buildup — no harsh cleaners needed. Doing this every week or two keeps it running at full power. Always unplug it before cleaning or moving it.
